Kohl’s to hire 69000 seasonal workers
J.C. Penney (JCP -1.1%) announces it will hire 40K workers this year to help it meet demand around the holiday season.
Kohl’s said last year it would hire 69,000 workers for the holiday season, but that was only a slight increase from 67,000 the year before.
In addition, Kohl’s Executive Vice President of Human Resources says “The holidays are an exciting time to join the Kohl’s team”. Positions are available across more than 1,100 stores in 49 states, as well as in distribution and fulfillment centers nationwide and at Kohl’s credit operations.
It will, however, hire 7,500 workers for its distribution and fulfillment centers – about 1,000 more than previous year.
“Our seasonal associates help deliver unbelievable products, incredible savings and an easy experience to Kohl’s customers in our stores and online”, Festerling added.
It is the same amount of holiday workers that the retailer hired during last Christmas season. Visit MarketWatch.com for more information on this news.
Most major retailers are already gearing up for the all-important holiday shopping season, posting help-wanted ads for part-time and seasonal workers on their websites or pre-registering applicants for holiday jobs.
As the industry awaits FedEx’s and UPS’ holiday hiring announcements as well, observers expect both companies to add at least 150,000 positions collectively – the same amount of hires they made in 2015, the report said.
