Manchester United Transfer Rumour: Jose Mourinho eyes Isco swoop in January
According to reports from Mirror Football, Manchester United are considering a January transfer swoop for Real Madrid midfielder Isco.
Given his apparent availability, a number of clubs were understandably keen on securing the services of Isco this summer and the Daily Mirror had claimed during the final few days of the summer transfer window that Premier League club Tottenham Hotspur were keen on making a swoop for the Spanish worldwide.
Mourinho has so far started Wayne Rooney in the number 10 role but the England captain as failed to perform well.
The Portuguese mastermind has already spent nearly £150m since joining the United side and is looking to spend another £150m in the upcoming transfer windows. The playmaker has failed to register substantial playing time, making just two substitute appearances since the Super Cup tie against Sevilla.
It remains to be seen whether the 24 – year-old will depart from Los Blancos, since in the past it was reported that may abandon the ranks of champion clubs of Europe. However, the Red Devils faltered against their neighbours, Manchester City, despite performing well in the second half.
Isco’s ability to link play from midfield to attack is a quality now needed at Old Trafford, with Rooney no longer the threat he once was in possession. Isco is rumoured to be available for a fee of around £25m as per the Mirror report – an amount that will not trouble either Tottenham or Manchester United.
