Used in Anti-Refugee Tweet
On Monday, Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump’s son Donald Jr. stirred up a bowl full of controversy by tweeting an image of Skittles and comparing them to Syrian refugees.
No one thought we’d be talking about Skittles candy in regards to the 2016 presidential election, but here we are thanks to a tweet from Donald Trump Jr. “Would you take a handful”, the meme asked. “That’s our Syria refugee problem”.
A spokeswoman for Skittles maker Wm. Otherwise, we might have to welcome people who use dishonest tactics for their insidious ends: the Trump campaign.

Mr Trump senior has sparked waves of criticism with his comments on race, immigrants and refugees, including calling for a ban on Muslim travellers to the United States. The brash businessman is also strongly opposed to plans by President Barack Obama to allow 10,000 Syrian refugees into the USA by the end of this month. He also said he would tell a refugee who was trying to bring their family to safety and found his analogy to be foolish, “Tough”.
Pence said it is “remarkable to see the level of outrage” about the tweet when Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton has called for admitting more refugees to the United States. His administration announced in August that it would meet that goal.
A spokesman for the Hillary Clinton campaign said the tweet was “disgusting”.
Trump’s running mate, Indiana Governor Mike Pence, hit back at the Skittles criticism in an NBC News interview. “This image says it all”, Trump’s eldest son wrote. He said he took this picture a few years ago while just messing around with the camera.
The former U.S. secretary of state has not updated that figure in recent months but says all refugees should be vetted. It said a former congressman and right-wing talk show host, Mr Joe Walsh, whose statements have been criticised as incendiary, has voiced similar ideas.
“What he was doing was making an illustration”. “I mean, if Republicans were doing that, they’d be warming up the gas chamber right now”.
