MINI Clubman JWC for Oz
According to MINI, the JCW Clubman will hit 100 km/h in 6.3 seconds and reach a top speed of 238 km/h, no matter what gearbox is chosen.
A new, more powerful version of the Mini Cooper has been launched. Transmission options include an enthusiast-approved six-speed manual and an eight-speed automatic controlled by steering wheel-mounted shift paddles. It is capable of delivering up to 228 horsepower coupled with 258 lb ft of torque.
MINI says the JCW Clubman represents the first-ever combination of the current 2.0 litre petrol engine developed for John Cooper Works models with the new generation of the all-wheel drive system ALL4. Power is then directed to all four wheels.
In line with existing JCW models, the Clubman’s spring and damper rates have been revised to provide a firmer set-up but have also been further enhanced to take into account the Clubman’s longer wheelbase and weight distribution.
As you might’ve guessed exclusively by the picture, this is the John Cooper Works Clubman, revealed here ahead of its Paris Motor Show premiere.
The auto even has launch control function, which “enables traction-optimized acceleration with maximum dynamic performance from a stopped position”.
Inside, the JCW edition includes sports seats, an Alcantara headliner and a wide array of standard equipment including navigation; Bluetooth and USB connectivity; and cruise control with brake function.
Joining the current JCW hatch and convertible models, the new Clubman has undergone the same upgrades including work to the TwinPower turbocharger, sports suspension, and brake system.
Buyers have so many options when they are interested in customizing the 2017 Mini Clubman John Cooper Works. The ride height has been reduced by 0.4 inches but it shouldn’t affect overall performance because the auto uses large 18-inch JCW wheels. For what it’s worth, the standard Clubman carries a base price of $24,100. There’s also an optional Head-Up Display, or HUD package.
