Muskogee War Memorial Park to celebrate Museum Day Live!
St. Joseph residents will have a chance to visit numerous community’s museums free of charge this Saturday as part of Smithsonian Magazine’s Museum Day Live! event. The Bristol museum is one of those in CT selected to participate in this year’s event. Participating museums in the Mid-Columbia area include Columbia Gorge Discovery Center and Fort Dalles Museum, who open their doors for free for the day to those who present a Museum Day Live! ticket, downloaded at www. smithsonianmag.com /museumday/.
“The Smithsonian is committed to making knowledge accessible to everyone and Museum Day Live! is an opportunity for museums across the country and their diverse communities to unite around that commitment”. Last year’s event drew over 400,000 participants, and this year’s event is expected to attract more museum goers than ever before.
The Museum Day Live ticket is available for download at Smithsonian.com/museumday. Visitors who present the Museum Day Live! ticket will gain free entrance for two at participating venues on September 24, 2016. One ticket will gain entrance to two participating venues.
“We are excited to be a part of this special day!”
The annual event is in its tenth year and involves more than 40,000 museums nationwide.
