‘Clash Royale’ Knocks ‘Pokemon GO’ Off Top Grossing Spot
After an insane debut, it looks like the Pokemon Go madness is starting to fade. Such is simply the nature of the mobile gaming industry.
Pokemon Go is King of the Apps no more.
Clash Royale is one of the most addicting and popular mobile games played by the majority today, however, these past few weeks, numbers of the players sworn it off and worse deleted the game app as well.
Of course, it would not be surprising at all if Pokemon GO initiates a number of important and lucrative updates in the near future.
Niantic’s location-based monster-hunting game was dethroned as the highest-grossing app in Apple’s U.S. app store after 74 days as the champion, Sensor Tower, a research group, said Tuesday in a blog post.
It all depends on how the new card and tournament mode changes are received by the player base. The base building juggernaut once spent 347 consecutive days as the top grossing app in the App Store.
Even though the 74 streak Pokémon GO had at the top spot is impressive it is nowhere near what Supercell’s mega hit Clash of Clans managed, as SensorTower notes.
While Clash Royale has reclaimed the title, it would not be a surprise to see Pokemon GO back into first place.
Although Pokemon Go is no longer raking in money like it used to, we shouldn’t discount the augmented reality game as dead in the water.
