WWE SmackDown Results: Winners, Grades, Reaction and Highlights from July 30
He talks about his match against United States Champion John Cena during “Monday Night Raw“, which saw Rollins, perhaps accidentally, legitimately breaking Cena’s nose. In a segment filmed backstage, Owens was told he will be teaming up to fight Cesaro. Latin Post reported, as last week’s “SmackDown” taping concluded, Rollins and Owens had a stare down, but that was only witnessed by those attending last week’s taping.
The eight man tag team match was fairly entertaining, although it still doesn’t give the tag division much direction.
Los Matadores & The Lucha Dragons go to battle against The New Day’s Big E & Kofi Kingston & The Ascension.
The fact that not seeing a Divas match is a bad thing shows the Divas revolution is accomplishing its goal. Swagger, however, countered Rusev, and the latter applied the Patriot Lock.
-Cesaro defeated Seth Rollins via DQ when Kevin Owens (who was on commentary for the match) attacks Cesaro during the match.
Stardust beat R-Truth in a quick match. We get back to see Cesaro chasing Rollins, then Rollins rolls in and stomps him before Cesaro calls for a Sharpshooter.
The main event should be a very solid match, but having Owens take the painful loss isn’t great as he hasn’t won for a long time. Cesaro and Ambrose ended up winning the match with a pin on Owens.
WWE also continued to build towards the Rusev & Summer Rae vs Dolph Ziggler & Lana bout that will likely happen at Summerslam. Instead, Becky defeated Brie Bella in a match taped for Main Event.
