Xiaomi Mi 5s is expected to be unveiled on September 27
So far, only LG has announced Android Nougat to be running on its flagship V20, set to release later this month. While it is nearly certain that the Mi 5s will be unveiled on that date, there are also hints that the Mi Note 2 will also make its debut as well. On top of Android 7.0 Nougat will be Xiaomi’s MIUI 8 OS, MIUI v8.6.9.8, as reported by Android Headlines. The Mi Note 2 will come in 64GB and 128GB variants, costing ¥2,499 (approximately Rs 25,000) and ¥2,799 (approximately Rs 28,200), respectively.
Recently, the Mi 5s was spotted on AnTuTu benchmark listing confirming the inclusion of Snapdragon 821 chipset. It is said that the phone is going to support its processor with a surprisingly massive combination of 6 GB of Random Access Memory (RAM) and 256 GB of built-in storage capacity. The Xiaomi Mi Note 2 is the company’s upcoming flagship phablet, and considering its predecessors (Mi Note and Mi Note Pro) had landed back in January a year ago, it’s about time Xiaomi introduces the Mi Note 2. However, the website warns the screenshot may well be a fake one. As for the rest of the Mi Note 2 performance specs, there’s a chance that the Google Pixel XL would be dwarfed as well. According to sources, a September 24 launch date is possible.
But we think it might be too soon for Xiaomi to launch the device, plus it is a Saturday. There are rumors that the company will launch multiple variants of the Mi 5s, dubbed Mi 5s and Mi 5s Plus. Rumors said that Mi 5s will have a 5.15-inch display, 6GB of RAM with 256GB storage powered by Snapdragon 821 chipset and Adreno 530 GPU. The Mi Note 2 is also rumored to sport a 5.7-inch display, both the fullHD and QHD variants were mentioned actually.
Along with Qualcomm’s latest high-end silicon, previous specs leaks have indicated a 3490 mAh battery with Qualcomm fast charge 3.0, USB-Type C and a 16-megapixel main camera with PDAF and f/1.8 aperture.
The Mi 5s is expected to feature Qualcomm’s ultrasonic fingerprint sensor technology. According to Phoneradar, Mi Note 2 will cost 2,799 Yuan (approximately Rs 28,000).
