Man Jailed For 100 Years For Drowning Step-Daughter In Pool
Jose David N was filmed throwing the little girl into the water at a hotel in Mexico last August.
The youngster’s mother, who is a nurse, had left the child in the care of her step-father while she was sleeping in their hotel room.
The video footage was made public previous year sparking outrage in South America.
She took the girl to a hospital, where the doctors confirmed the child had died.
He then appeared to act surprised after being told that she had drowned. Later when she returned to the pool, she was shocked to see her daughter’s lifeless body in the pool.
He can also be seen dragging her hair under the water and not allowing her to breath properly, while the girl was desperately tried to swim despite not knowing how to.
Jose David N. was found guilty of aggravated murder and will now die behind bars after judge Garcia Cardona sentenced him to a century in prison without possibility of parole.
Jose stayed silent throughout his murder trial and did not testify. However, after reviewing the CCTV footage, the judge slapped the accused with a more severe punishment – 100 years in jail.
On another occasion he throws her into the water fully clothed and walks away, only returning to throw her in the water again.
He eventually throws a lifebuoy into the pool, but the girl is unable to reach it.
It shows him standing at the poolside as her arms flail in the air.
Shocking video footage shows the bulky stepdad jumping into the pool with the girl then letting go of her once in the water. The mother claimed she did not know her daughter was being mistreated until she saw the shocking video clips.
His defence had suggested the girl died outside the water, a submission rejected by judges Juan Salvador Alonso Mejia, Ana Lilia Garcia Cardona and Noe Reyes Millan.
The stepfather was arrested and detained a short time later.
