Luck sits out with sore right shoulder, but expects to play
Luck said Wednesday is normally the day the Colts normally install the bulk of their game plan, but he said he didn’t believe it would affect him much if he does play Sunday.
The status of the team’s most indispensible player has been an issue since Luck missed nine games last season with an assortment of injuries, including an injury to his right shoulder.
Pagano did not talk about Luck’s injury before practice and will not be available again until Friday. He reassured the media he “absolutely” would play against the Chargers.
That’s good news for the Colts (0-2), who are trying to avoid losing their first three games for the first time since 2011. And we all know how that season ended. “But that’s the way it is and you have to be able to adjust in this league”.
Before the season started, the Colts seemed solid at the position with star Vontae Davis and free-agent signee Patrick Robinson as the starters, veteran Darius Butler as the slot guy and 2015 third-round pick D’Joun Smith as the fourth guy. He suffered a season-ending lacerated kidney November 8 against Denver. Luck has already been sacked seven times this season and has taken 16 additional hits. Then he was held out of Wednesday’s practice.
Luck said it was just sore, downplaying the obvious concern his absence will raise among fans.
