Mourinho looks to get over 1st wobble of Man United reign
Quoted by the BBC ahead of the Red Devils’ clash with Leicester City on Saturday afternoon, Mourinho admitted negative comments of late have been getting to England’s record goalscorer.
The United captain this week said he ignores most of the “rubbish” about him, but Mourinho thinks some of the talk has impacted his form since returning from England’s unconvincing start to life under Sam Allardyce.
Asked about the state of his relationship with Mourinho these days, Ranieri said it was “very good” and that there were “no problems”, with mention of the history between the two of them prompting a dismissive response.
Fail to get one, and he could end up feeling like that squished mosquito. Of this he said: “It’s a learning process, you make a mistake, especially the kind of individual mistake, you have to learn with what that means for the team, a team that works during the week on a game plan”. With the Einsteins is fine, they need money. History says that. Not many teams during the Premier League history could do that.
“Leicester are very good, they are a very easy team to analyse and understand, their attacking organisation is hard to cope with”.
Speaking in an interview with MUTV, Carrick said: “I think he [Mourinho] knows what I can do and I am not going to change my game now”.
Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho joked he is now the “Worst One” rather than the “Special One” as football’s “Einsteins” criticise and scrutinise his side who are looking to avoid a third straight Premier League defeat. I do lots of charity work. “Criticism is part of the process, it helps them learn how to deal with criticism from you [the media]”.
Alex Ferguson’s United and Chelsea under Mourinho are the only teams in the Premier League era to retain the title and he acknowledged the difficultly facing Claudio Ranieri and his Leicester team, who stunned the football world by finishing first last season. It is very easy to analyse and understand.
“You must be very lucky to be Manchester United manager, Man United player, Man United physio, Man United doctor, Man United kit man”.
“That’s what he tries to do every time (use it as motivation)”.
He did confirm that Anthony Martial will play no part tomorrow after the injury he sustained against Watford, while Luke Shaw (groin) and Henrikh Mkhitaryan (thigh) are back in contention for the squad, but Phil Jones (knee) remains absent.
“You are wrong because you say concussion – one thing is concussion, another thing is contusion”.
“We were punished by the fact that we played well for moments and for periods and not for the whole of the game”.
