Stroumboulopoulos ‘heartbroken’ after close friend killed at Los Angeles home
A man was found dead Friday inside a Hollywood Hills residence after police responded to a burglary report at the home.
A homicide investigation was underway after a body was discovered in Hollywood Hills on September 23, 2016.
Breaking news reports out of Los Angeles indicate Strombo was not at home at the time of the body’s discovery.
LAPD said that the man had died of blunt force trauma, according to ABC 7.
That suspect remained at large on Friday evening despite a search of the neighborhood using dogs and a helicopter.
A man about 5-foot-8 with short black hair and a black jacket was seen fleeing the area, police said.
Anyone with information was asked to call authorities at 213-382-9470.
In a Facebook post, Stroumboulopoulos said he has few details, but that he and his circle of friends are “devastated” by the news and that it appears to be the result of a break-in.
“I am heartbroken”, said the award-winning talk show host, who has interviewed numerous world’s most high-profile stars.
Stroumboulopoulos became the host of “Hockey Night in Canada” in 2014, but left earlier this year to “to explore new creative opportunities”. The victim was a dear friend of mine, who was staying at my place while I was away.
