Chris Ivory could help stabilize shaky Jaguars offense
Jaguars running back Chris Ivory admits his conditioning isn’t in top shape. “I think the big thing with him is his conditioning, to see how much he can handle”. He was released two days later.
“He should”, Bradley said.
Ivory was taken to a Jacksonville hospital the morning of the September 11 season opener suffering from what the team described as a general medical condition.
If the Jaguars offense can get back to their downfield passing and add in some power running, opening up play action passing, it could change quite a bit about the team.
The Jacksonville Jaguars will be without starting left tackle Kelvin Beachum against Baltimore on Sunday.
Thursday, Bradley said Odrick isn’t likely to play Sunday due to his triceps injury.
With the running game so ineffective in his absence, Ivory might be able to secure a larger percentage of work if he can make a difference Sunday’ against the Ravens. Without him, the Jaguars rank 30th in the National Football League in rushing, averaging 3.2 yards a carry. Those numbers dip after removing quarterback Blake Bortles’ five carries for 36 yards, as T.J. Yeldon struggled while dominating touches the past two weeks, gaining just 67 yards on 28 carries (2.4 YPC) and 40 yards on 12 catches. He suffered a sprained knee Wednesday, did not practice Thursday or Friday and is questionable for Sunday.
The Jaguars (0-2) also announced that tight end Ben Koyack has a torn meniscus in his left knee.
