Argentina say Barca don’t take care of Lionel Messi
“The only truth in this story, because there are a lot of different opinions floating around, is we all seek the best for Messi and all the other players in the club”, he told a news conference ahead of this weekend’s trip to face his hometown club Sporting Gijon.
“We understand that it was for the best for Messi and his club, and we agreed”.
Messi is in line to miss Argentina’s 2018 World Cup qualifying games with Peru and Paraguay.
Argentina captain Messi has started in five of Barca’s six games this season, but was forced off in Wednesday’s 1-1 home draw against Atletico Madrid with a groin injury that will keep him out of action for three weeks.
“It seems really odd that they make him play every game with the problems that he has”.
Messi limped off during Barcelona‘s draw with Atletico Madrid.
“We can not and we do not want to intervene with Barcelona’s plans, and we understand that the club needs to be able to count on the player”. We received the official report from Barcelona and to us it seemed unusual because three weeks is not long enough to recover from a torn adductor muscle.
‘We haven’t yet been able to speak with him, but we want to know how serious the injury is.
“Barcelona have made it more complicated for us”. They sent an official notice and until now it’s the only thing we have.
“Apparently he had a test and we’re waiting for the results to be sent to the national team doctor, and then we’ll have a clearer view. Our team doctors are waiting on the MRI to know the official grade of the injury”.
‘It seems odd to us because three weeks is not enough to recover from a ruptured adductor.
“The best player in the world getting injured is bad news for us and anyone who enjoys watching good football”.
Earlier, Luis Enrique defended Barcelona’s treatment of players after Bauza’s apparent criticism. Yesterday, I asked him how he was and he was well. After that, we shall see.
“It’s going to be a tough game and we will need a good performance”, Luis Enrique said.
