I have point to prove to Chelsea boss Conte, admits Cesc Fabregas
Starsport revealed on Tuesday that Conte is already coming under pressure, with billionaire owner Roman Abramovich furious at Chelsea’s performance in the 2-1 defeat to Liverpool.
Shinji Okazaki put the hosts a goal up on 17 minutes with a header and the Japanese striker then doubled Leicester’s advantage with a sharp shot on 34 minutes.
“The second key was when Wasilewski was sent off”.
“At that point it was very hard against a team with high quality”.
Conte will be the 12th Chelsea manager Wenger has faced in the Premier League.
But a gritty display from the Spain midfielder – ahead of Saturday’s visit to former club Arsenal – impressed Conte although he offered no assurances he would start at the Emirates.
“We face a good team and I’m sure Arsenal will fight until the end to win the title”.
‘But the most important thing for Cesc is that, now, he’s a Chelsea player and playing very well for Chelsea.
“If you ask me if I’m happy with the goals we conceded, I’m not happy, it’s true”, Conte said.
Chelsea go to Fabregas’ former club Arsenal in the league on Saturday and the Spain World Cup victor wants to show Conte, who arrived in the summer, why he is wrong to leave him out. I’m not going to deny I want to play every single minute.
“Cesc is Chelsea’s player, I am happy about him, for his attitude and his behaviour during training sessions”, the ex-Juventus boss said. “I don’t know [when he will be back] because, in this case, it is important to be patient for what the player feels and all the pain that he feels”. “When my time comes, I will try to perform, as I have been doing over the last few weeks”.
He added: “Even in the summer, when there were so many rumours, I never thought about leaving Chelsea”. It can be the possibility that he can start in the lineup, but I have another day to make a decision.
