Early voting begins as ballots are issued
Starting today, you can choose who you would like to be the next commander in chief of the United States.
The Allen County Election Board issued more than 2,100 absentee ballots Friday, beginning the early voting process for the 2016 general election, which features races for USA president, congressional seats, and state and county races. If you experience any voting-related problem, the U.S. Election Assistance Commission encourages you to contact your state or local election office for information on how to file a complaint. If a ballot is ever rejected for any reason, a notice will be sent to the voter with the reason why it didn’t get counted and if it was because of a non-matching signature, we send them a voter registration application for the voter to update their signature for future elections.
At one such early voting center in an old roofing warehouse in south Minneapolis, elections staff put the finishing touches on their setup Thursday.
Absentee ballots by mail must be returned by 7 p.m. on Election Day. They’ll be sealed and kept locked up until the final week before they’re submitted for processing.
