Trump’s doctor declares him in ‘excellent physical health’
Following suit, Trump provided Dr Oz host Mehmet Oz with a letter from his doctor – which he has not made available to other media – in which his weight and high-cholesterol are disclosed. He has a BMI of 29.5, putting him in the overweight range. He said Trump’s calcium score in 2013 was 98. His latest chest X-ray and electrocardiogram were performed April 16 and were normal, according to Bornstein.
Clinton’s personal physician, Dr. Lisa Bardack, said in a letter that accompanied the records, that her patient was “recovering well with antibiotics and rest” after she fell ill Sunday during a 9/11 memorial service at ground zero.
Bornstein said there was no history in Trump’s family of premature cardiac or neoplastic disease, which includes all kinds of cancers and abnormal growths. Trump takes statin, a medication to lower his cholesterol, and a daily low dose of aspirin.
The 70-year-old was asked about the fact he would be the oldest president to take office if he won, and replied: “I would be just about the same age as Ronald Reagan – Hillary is a year behind”.
In a move straight out of The Apprentice television show, presidential hopeful Donald Trump surprised Dr. Oz and audience members with a one-page summary of his recent health report.
It doesn’t, however, contain his medical records and doesn’t provide extensive detail about his health history.
Trump was hospitalized only once in his life, he said – to have his appendix removed when he was 11 years old. The letter also did not mention his current mental health.
“Not knowing if we would see Mr. Trump’s medical records, I planned to do a full review of systems with Mr. Trump”.
Until now Trump had released only four, gushing paragraphs on his health, written by his doctor Bornstein in December 2015.
The Trump campaign said the note shows the GOP nominee has “the stamina to endure – uninterrupted – the rigors of a punishing and unprecedented presidential campaign and, more importantly, the singularly demanding job of President of the United States”.
