Man arrested for encouraging 3-year-old to smoke joint, police say

A shocking video out of North Little Rock has received more than 140,000 views on Facebook. That’s why a video that police say Lamel Yancey of Arkansas uploaded to Facebook is causing furor online.

According to police, the child’s mother gets in the back seat of the vehicle with the child while Yancy continues to smoke the suspected Marijuana.

In the troubling video, police found on one of Lamel Yancy’s Facebook accounts. The boy excitedly says, “Weed!” when handed the joint.

“It really makes you sick to your stomach, this is a three-year-old baby”, Sgt. Brian Dedrick, of the North Little Rock Police Dpeartment, said.

Yancy remained at the Pulaski County jail as of Thursday afternoon on a charge of first-degree endangering the welfare of a minor, records show. Yancy, known as “Man Man”, was charged as an adult and held on $2500 bond for the felony charge.

Police said the child’s mother appeared to be present in the video, sitting in the backseat with the child.

The toddler has been returned to his family.

“I was just really disturbed by what I saw”, Dedrick said.

As for the child, he is in his grandmother’s custody.

Excerpts of the video have been released of the original 11-minute recording showing Yancy giving the boy an unlit joint.
