Hillary Clinton holds her own against Zach Galifianakis
Democratic U.S. presidential candidate Hillary Clinton put herself at the mercy of comedian Zach Galifianakis in the latest episode of his show “Between Two Ferns”, which was aired on Thursday.
In the video, Galifianakis comes into the interview room dressed as the Grim Reaper but then gets manhandled by the Secret Service.
“I really regret doing this”, Mrs. Clinton said. “Like himself. Weak?” he asked.
“What if you become pregnant?”
She replies: “You know Zach, those are really out of date questions”.
In an interview with The Daily Beast, director Scott Aukerman said Clinton wanted to participate because she had enjoyed an episode in which President Barack Obama was a guest.
Towards the end of the sketch, Galifianakis says he needs to break for a commercial sponsor and plays a pro-Trump ad.
In closing, Galifianakis made a wry reference to Clinton’s use of a private email server during her tenure as America’s top diplomat, which was investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
Throughout the interview, Clinton gamely deadpans her responses to the actor’s often-inappropriate queries, making for plenty of awkward fun.
Clinton failed to see the amusing side of Galifianakis’ “really, outdated questions”, when asked “as secretary how many words per minute could you type and how does President Obama like his coffee?” Clinton: “I’m not down with TPP”. Galifianakis, however, had a different tie in mind.
“Don’t tell me what to say”. Although the Presidential candidate isn’t exactly known for her comedy chops, it turns out that most of her Between Two Ferns with Zach Galifianakis was improvisation.
Galifianakis: I’d love to meet the person who makes your pantsuits.
The interview is better still when you learn that the majority of it is improvised.
