Clinton to return to the campaign trail Thursday
Half of voters say Hillary Clinton has given false information about her health, according to a poll released Wednesday in the wake of the Democratic presidential nominee’s recently disclosed bout with pneumonia.
Hillary Clinton is releasing more detailed medical records Wednesday that describe the form of pneumonia she’s been diagnosed with as a mild, non-contagious bacterial infection and which include more specifics about the results of routine lab tests, such as blood cholesterol levels and her annual mammogram.
“She is recovering well with antibiotics and rest”, said her doctor, Lisa Bardack, in a letter released by her campaign.
Mrs Clinton was diagnosed with pneumonia and told to rest last Friday, but said she ignored “that very wise advice” and continued her campaign schedule.
Bardack also said Clinton’s vaccinations remained up to date – including Prevnar and Pneumovax, she said, which both help prevent pneumonia.
The revelation of Clinton’s pneumonia diagnosis drew fierce criticism from supporters and opponents alike, who accused her team of attempting to hide the candidate’s health condition. Her cholesterol was normal at 189, LDL at 103, HDL at 56, though her triglycerides were somewhat elevated at 159.
“You know the pollsters call you up and say do you support the guy who, if you do not support him, he might throw you in jail, you say yes I love that guy”.
Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump are running neck-and-neck in a four-way matchup including third-party candidates, according to a national poll released Wednesday. The doctor later said that Mrs Clinton was “rehydrated and recovering nicely”.
The statement also said Clinton has no lasting effects from a concussion she suffered while serving as secretary of state in 2012, backing up statements that she has made in the years since the incident.
A Bloomberg Politics poll released Wednesday shows Hillary Clinton losing her lead to Donald Trump in battleground OH, after a rough campaign stretch in which she faced criticism for demeaning Trump supporters as well as renewed speculation about her health.
The statement from the Oz program also said Trump’s physical was performed by Dr. Harold Bornstein, his personal physician, who in a letter past year proclaimed the real estate mogul would be the “healthiest individual ever elected to the presidency”.
The letter from Clinton’s doctor made no mention of her weight, a key part of any medical exam, nor did a similar letter released past year. She’s staying at her home in NY while her husband, former President Bill Clinton, and daughter, Chelsea Clinton, appear on the trail in her place. “He’s 70. He’s the heaviest president we’ve had, candidate, since William Taft”, Mr. Plouffe said on MSNBC’s “MTP Daily”. Before releasing the new details to the public, Trump turned over a copy to Dr. Mehmet Oz while taping an episode of Oz’s TV show.
Trump surrogate and former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani went even further last month, falsely claiming that there are “several signs of a Clinton illness” and that the media “fails to point out several signs of illness by her”. His Doctor Oz charade is as completely unserious as his original joke of a letter written in five minutes.
