Vikings regroup in 2nd half, top Panthers 22-10
It was a splendid defensive performance full of sacks.
The Panthers and Vikings squared off at Carolina’s Bank of America Stadium, located in uptown Charlotte, Sunday afternoon.
The Vikings have given up 4 sacks in two games and it looked worse than that last week against the Packers.
The Vikings (3-0) recorded eight sacks and intercepted Newton three times.
The buildup to Sunday’s game is much different than it was for baseball players and fans at Dodger Stadium on April 28, 1992, when they learned about the Rodney King riots.
It was Carolina’s first home loss since November 16, 2014.

Sam Bradford, coming off the best start of his career in his Vikings debut a week earlier, completed only four of 11 passes for 26 yards and was sacked twice. He bounced back in the second half, going 14-of-17 passing for 145 yards and a touchdown to finish the day with a collective passer rating of 93.0. “It just can’t happen”.

Artis-Payne gained 47 yards on 12 attempts. Newton was unsettled and the Carolina offense just couldn’t find any rhythm beyond their first few drives.
NOTES: The Vikings lead the all-time series 8-5. Diggs had four catches for 40 yards after a pair of 100-yard receiving games to begin the season. Going against a weak Vikings’ offensive line, this was the flawless opportunity for him to show up and kick off his season.
