Dolphins look to overcome injuries, inconsistent play
“I think he’s growing each and every day as a football player, as a person”. “Randy Moss, Charles Woodson, my route coach Tim Cortez”.
“I can see them doing a lot of different things with him”.
Credit Pryor for his work ethic and humble approach to a position change. Everybody who says he lost the game can look right at me.
With an all-around performance not seen on an National Football League field since 1959, Pryor displayed his unique athletic gifts and gave Cleveland fans some hope that a season already sabotaged by key injuries can maybe be salvaged. This is a hard thing to talk about without coming off like a complete and total loser, but we have to try. “[Randy’s the greatest], the greatest of all time”, Pryor said.
It was a bit of absolution for Ajayi, who had gained just 14 yards on five rushing attempts in the first two games and had a crucial first-half fumble in the loss at New England last week. “Once we get over that hump, I think we’re going to have a lot of success, even this year”. We’ve had many conversations about the 2016 Browns already, and once you acknowledge that all the tank talk and rebuilding talk has already taken place, it’s much easier. But one year later – an eventful year of fits and starts, to be sure, including a hamstring injury, a single catch in 2015, and being waived – here we are, Terrelle Pryor and Frank Gifford in the same sentence.
Pryor has caught the attention of Redskins coach Jay Gruden, who was asked his thoughts on Pryor’s performance against Miami last week. “Everybody would. Everybody”, he said. I think everyone on this team does a good job of that. With all of the front office and personnel mistakes the Cleveland Browns have made, how were they the only ones that saw he had this kind of potential? “I’m happy he is on our team”. “He’s a hothead. So I got to tone him down”. There are a lot of guys that want to do your job and want to do the right things.. For me, all that matters really is winning in Cleveland right now. He was cut by the Chiefs and Bengals – as a quarterback, his original position – in 2015 before the Browns claimed him on waivers in June 2015 and Pryor chose to dedicate himself to becoming a wide receiver.
“It’s a coach’s decision”, James said. The Dolphins appeared to have their offense going again at that point as they went 68 yards in four plays using 2:10. The Browns have started three quarterbacks in their three games, including rookie Cody Kessler against the Dolphins, and they could possibly start a fourth against Washington in Pryor. As much as he wants to be there to help the team win, it doesn’t come without a price. So I can’t put that on him.
The fifth-year starting quarterback will be the biggest reason the Dolphins either make the playoffs or miss it. This week, we have to be urgent and compete more than ever.
A 13-10 halftime lead turned into a 24-13 deficit because the Browns couldn’t get close to Dolphins quarterback Ryan Tannehill.
