Trump tries to regain footing after week of trouble
Democrat Hillary Clinton called Monday for a new law requiring future nominees for president to be required to release their tax returns while railing against Republican rival Donald Trump for his continued resistance to doing so. Clinton received backing by 42 percent of likely voters, while Trump had the support of 36 percent.
The survey conducted by the Wason Center for Public Policy shows Clinton with a 42-35 percent lead on Trump- a one percent move from their last poll.

If the USA presidential election were held today, Clinton would lead Trump 246 to 180 in the Electoral College, and had an 88 percent chance of gaining the 270 electoral votes needed to become the US chief executive. Most of this came from independents who had been supporting Libertarian Gary Johnson, whose support dropped from 31 percent to 20 percent.
Other polls have also shown Clinton bumping past Trump since their first debate. She trails Trump by 21 points among that group now, down from a 44-point chasm in early September.
“When Hillary Clinton says no boots on the ground … whether you want boots on the ground or not, you shouldn’t say it”, he said.
In a map updated Monday morning, Polly Vote predicted Clinton to win with 341 electoral points and 52.3 percent of the vote versus Trump’s 197 electoral points and 47.7 percent of the vote.
Clinton has even gained somewhat among whites without college degrees, who have been among Trump’s most ardent supporters.
She says Trump represents the “same rigged system that he claims he’s going to change”.
Even 49 percent of Republicans said that would be below the belt, compared to 37 percent who said it would be fine.
The Republican nominee said that those working in government, including his Democratic opponent, can’t understand what it takes to “climb out of an economic depression”.
Trump has little outreach aimed at specific voter groups in North Carolina; Clinton does. “A big “W” for the debate, and a slightly too-close-to- be-comfortable lead in the head-to-head matchup”, said Tim Malloy, assistant director of the Quinnipiac University Poll.
