Gary Johnson Couldn’t Even Name North Korea’s Leader, Kim Jong Un
Gary Johnson’s running mate is focusing on taking down Donald Trump by election day – but he insists it’s just because he thinks it’ll be easier to pull Republican voters to the Libertarian ticket. The Libertarian Party came to rally on Temple’s campus at Morgan hall on October 29th.
I agree that a so-called conscience vote is not a wasted vote, but for a different reason.
In defense of his gaffes, Johnson has stated that he does not need to know the nuances of geography in order to have a coherent understanding of global relations.
The details, starting with the declaration that victory for the Democrats (which these guys want) relies on at least one relevant if: “if progressives are smart in dealing with the third party vote”.
“Gary likes to say the only wasted vote is for someone you don’t believe in”.
“And based on what I know, I would pardon Edward Snowden”, he said to applause, referring to the NSA contractor who leaked details of extensive government surveillance programs. “And we’ll do this in the needed time frame – by achieving 100 percent renewable energy by 2030”, she said.
“Bill Weld and I are pledging to submit a balanced budget to Congress”. “He doesn’t come across with a crisp Libertarian message”, said Paul of Johnson.
Despite best efforts from Russian hackers and WikiLeaks, Hillary Clinton has seen a bump in the polls, and Gary Johnson may be partially responsible. And I know there’s a dispute about who it is, but there is a suggestion that, as with Ralph Nader, that these third parties – Libertarian or Jill Stein with the Green Party – will take it away from Hillary Clinton.
But perhaps even worse for Johnson than the campaign trail blunders, or the outside forces pushing to end his presidential run, is a growing perception that his running mate is ready to bow out.
Weld insisted that he and Johnson remain “happy warriors” but said it is critical for the country that Trump be stopped.
“Well, maybe I was looking at the wrong – maybe I was looking at the wrong poll that you’re citing right now, but a recent poll that I looked at yesterday that had me at 7%”.
Although Johnson’s support has fallen, the race is too volatile to predict.
Johnson, who was previously criticized for appearing unaware of the Syrian city of Aleppo, said the leading presidential candidates need to be able to do more than name foreign leaders.
