Former Arsenal Star Backs Wenger For England Job
Arsene Wenger is “perfect” to be the manager of England, FA chief executive Martin Glenn said on Friday.
Asked on The Game Podcast whether he would prefer Klopp over Wenger as Arsenal manager, former Gunners star Robson replied: “Of course”.
And while it would be nice to emulate Alex Ferguson, who made a decision to end his 26-year reign at Manchester United after winning the league title, Wenger said going out on a high was not his main priority.
Speaking ahead of the Premier League clash with Burnley this weekend, an opportunity to win a fifth consecutive match, Wenger tried to explain the secrets of his longevity at Arsenal. “Would Ferguson have not have gone out on a high after the history?”
What a difference 67 days make, after the incredible developments of the last few days the England national team once again finds itself without a permanent manager at the helm. The 51-year-old also has vast experience in England and has been named as a potential successor to Allardyce.
“African players had a massive impact on my career because I always managed them right from the moment I started in the top league in France”, Wenger was quoted by the club’s website.
“I rule nothing out because I want to work and I want to do well”. “And you have to convince people that you know what you’re talking about”. Today when I go out onto the training pitch, I see people from China or Hong Kong.
Former Arsenal midfielder Liam Brady looks back on Arsene Wenger’s 20 years at the club.
‘I accept that it can finish tomorrow as well. “You expect a love story to last forever”.
Wenger’s list of honours include three Premier League titles and six FA Cups, but he remains more interested in looking to the future than reminiscing about his past. It shows total commitment from the club and faith in me through good times and less good times’.
The Arsenal team, this season, have certainly played well.
He added that it is “a unusual one” that Wenger is “questioned at times” as he spoke about supporters wanting “actual success” in the form of “trophies” rather than the kind of “success” that Dyche himself would deem such as “style of play”.
“But now I am focused on my job”.
“I believe we are a bit more mature”.
“I’m very honoured and thank you very much”.
