Her appointment comes after she was made a peer for concluding her inquiry into anti-Semitism, which found that the Labour party was “not overrun by anti-Semitism, Islamophobia, or other forms of racism” despite concerns of growing problems.
He condemned the behaviour of Labour over the last 12 months for making him “profoundly sad”.

“It’s only with Labour in power that we can ensure that minority communities have a real sense of belonging, so they are as resilient as possible to extremism and radicalisation”.
But he will say: “It’s only with Labour in power that we can create a fairer, more equal and more just Britain”. Dugdale publicly backed Owen Smith in the leadership contest, and although Jones stayed neutral, Davies said past year that “Jeremy Corbyn would be an absolute electoral disaster for Labour in Wales as much as elsewhere”.
Some MPs have said they will stay away, however. “If Labour now argues for the status quo, it will look like we have abandoned them too”.
Mayor of London Sadiq Khan stressed the importance of Labour being back in power 28 times in a speech to the party’s autumn conference, amid speculation about his future leadership ambitions.
However, it was met with criticism by Liberal Democrat chief whip Tom Brake, who said: “Only Andy Burnham can resign halfway through his own speech”.
“I think there has to be a political solution, which brings together everyone with the exception of IS to isolate them”.
Abbott of course wants more immigration.
“For a man who has spent his life facing both ways on this critical issue, his speech today takes the biscuit”.
