Iowa runs over Purdue in first half

Hazell confirmed this week that senior receiver Domonique Young’s season is over after he suffered ligament damage during last week’s game at IL.

Purdue’s offense briefly flirted with what would have been an improbable comeback.

“It was the type of start we wanted to get off to, ” Beathard said. “It is what it is”. It forced four turnovers against Eastern Kentucky in Week 1, then went two weeks without a turnover. A blowout loss against mediocre Maryland.

And then this. A dud on homecoming. Hazell is 9-32 with just three wins in Big Ten play.

Iowa’s defense, helped in part by the offense’s ability to control time of possession, played one of its best games of the season. Like Marshall, all fans can do for now is throw their hands up and hope they get an answer. Neither nickel back Brandon Roberts nor cornerback David Rose were on the sideline, either, though not for injury related reasons.
