Emails show Clinton treading lightly with Wall Street talks
In November, as Clinton’s campaign was refusing to release transcripts of her paid speeches, her speechwriter, Dan Schwerin, suggested anonymously leaking to a reporter excerpts from one particular speech he wrote for her: A 2014 address to Deutsche Bank. But take a closer look.
“We used to be much better at this than we are now”, she said.
-Thoughtful exchanges: Clinton offered candid and detailed analysis of world events, in events at Goldman Sachs.
PORTSMOUTH, N.H. (AP) – Donald Trump’s latest unsubstantiated salvo against rival Hillary Clinton charges she might have been on drugs during their last debate and challenges her to join him in undergoing a pre-debate drug test ahead of their third and final clash.
After surmising that Clinton was getting “pumped up” ahead of Wednesday’s debate rather than preparing for it, Trump told supporters: “I think we should take a drug test prior to the debate, ’cause I don’t know what’s going on with her”. Her opponent, Bernie Sanders, demanded that she release them. According to a Clinton campaign response to The New York Times article on the scandal, “the CFIUS approval process historically does not trigger the personal involvement of the Secretary of State” and that Fernandez was the “State Department’s principal representative to CFIUS”, not Clinton. That is, she took questions that it appears likely she was not secretly briefed on or engaged in negotiations over ahead of time.
As Clinton is often criticized for giving speeches with carefully chosen words, the fact that she criticized her staff’s use of poll-tested lines is noteworthy.
Tanden continued, “No one things she doesn’t have the judgment to be president – she’s not reaffirming a negative characteristic in saying sorry”. But it also fits an image of USA policy that Clinton might have preferred to keep private.
“If pressed: what about marijuana banking restrictions – should we let marijuana businesses access banking services?” The Clinton campaign not responding to individual documents, instead, akuding the Russians of orchestrating the hack to give Donald Trump a win. According to transcripts, she discussed hearing a screaming match between Chinese and Japanese leaders; the re-emergence of Japanese nationalism; Russian distrust of the Chinese; how a Syrian no-fly zone could kill civilians; and the multiple causes of USA legislative paralysis. But the IN governor says “elections always get pretty rough” and he expects that’s how it’ll be right up until Election Day.
Within hours of AP’s reporting, Republicans from the House Select Committee on Benghazi issued a subpoena demanding Clinton’s emails regarding the deadly 2012 attacks on the USA diplomatic compound in Libya. Where else have we seen these problems?
“We’re all in this together”, Clinton told the audience. And we could call it the American Sea, and it could go from the West Coast of California all the way to the Philippines. Trump says none of those stories is true. And the issue kept bubbling up, no matter how hard Clinton’s team worked to put it behind her. So, her advice, which she blurts out to a room of bankers, is to wage war in Syria very “covertly”.
Indeed, the remarks were less excoriation and more focused on a cooperative approach to show that Wall Street was interested in reform and sensitive to the needs and fears of Main Street. In a speech to Goldman Sachs, however, she blurts out that creating such a zone would require bombing a lot more populated areas than was required in Libya.
“So he’s someone who you at least have the impression is a more worldly, somewhat more experienced politician”, she said.
