Supergirl: “The Last Children of Krypton” review
Cadmus turned episode 1’s failed assassin, John Corben, into Metallo, a man with a metal skeleton and a Kryptonite power source that he can use as a weapon.
Similar can be said of Kara’s civilian side as she has a lot to deal with here, such as trying to explain what’s going on to Eliza and dealing with the “parenting” aspect that she gets from her. Alex calls Kara out on the idea of running away from her problems.
Is Cat Grant gone for good? First up, Alex confronts Kara about Superman and how, since his arrival, she has felt left out and not needed.
As Nobel prize victor Bob Dylan once wrote “the times they are a-changing”. New episodes of Supergirl can be seen every Monday night, but if you’re not up to speed, you can revisit the first season, which ranks on our list of the 50 best drama TV shows on Netflix.
This week on Supergirl: Metallo strikes, Superman and Supergirl continue to bond, Alex gets jealous, and Cadmus makes a bold move. More of him, please. The two of them share a heartfelt hug and I realize that it’s for the best that Cat leaves because, as I stated before, Kara needs to learn how to stand on her own as Kara Danvers as well as when she’s Supergirl.
At the DEO, Alex and Winn figure out a way to track the agent that took the missing kryptonite and in doing so, Alex comes face to face with the Cadmus creeps! Kara, Clark, J’onn and the rest of the DEO will be facing off against Cadmus. The second chapter also witnessed glimpses of Superman.

He also pledges to do anything he can to help find Jeremiah Danvers, who is now being experimented on somewhere at Cadmus. The two of them track the mole by following the trail of kryptonite radiation. And once again I’m reminded that the Supergirl writers get the character of Superman. And while her Metallos are defeated by the end of the episode, The Doctor is still out there to take down the Super-cousins (and Alex) another day. James, on the other hand, is taking Cat’s position for the time being. Instead, he tried to stay true to the version of Superman that Berlanti, Kreisberg and the rest of the Supergirl team created. The evil Cadmus lady (a chilling Brenda Strong) tells Alex that her father is there but he is not the man she remembers.
In the comics, Superboy is a secret project in the basement of Cadmus who is rescued and trained to be a hero. In this episode, Lynda Carter will be playing as the President who will be attacked by Metallo.
Anyway, after everything goes down, Clark heads back to Metropolis, sends Kara a cute text message about missing her and then promptly is reamed out by Perry White for being on vacation for so long. While one Metallo is about to kill Superman, Martian Manhunter ambushes him. Snapper accepts the story and decides to bring Kara under his wing. She lost her chance at getting an assignment, and is officially out of the job. The cyborg is powered by an element “Krypton”, which was stolen from DEO, Den Of Geek reported.
At the end, Supergirl goes to check on him but the alien wakes up and immediately grabs her by the throat as the episode fades to black.
Superman, we hardly knew you.
