Man hit in the head by bullet that ricocheted off armadillo
If you’re trying to shoot an armadillo, it’s probably advisable to hit the deck after squeezing the trigger.
The incident happened at the unidentified man’s property around 3 a.m., Chief Deputy Roy Barker with the Cass County Sheriff’s department told The Huffington Post Friday.
In April, a Georgia man accidentally shot his mother-in-law after taking aim at an armadillo.
Sheriff Larry Rowe countered the explanation, saying the bullet more likely bounced off a rock.
“This is the country, and we have a lot of armadillos”, he said.
The incident is being investigated as a possible accidental shooting, deputies said.
The man was airlifted to a nearby hospital, where his jaw was wired shut, according to Rowe.
As for the armadillo, it got away.
