Michigan tops Illinois 41-8, tunes up for Michigan St
Third-ranked MI often looks unstoppable on offense while averaging 50 points per game. But no battle plan ever survives first contact with the enemy. “We still taste it in our mouth”.
Northwestern may be the most unsafe team in the Big Ten West.
IN at Northwestern: This could be the most intriguing game that no one pays attention to. Texas A&M, Nebraska, Wisconsin, West Virginia, Boise State, Arkansas, Utah, Western Michigan, Auburn and Navy have replaced them among college football’s poll elite. That’s where the similarities between these two teams end. “It’s not a secret they have a special player there”.
Sure enough, it worked.
After the game, Nickerson uncharacteristically let just a bit of an edge come through as he talked to reporters: “I think guys are pissed off right now”.
Up or down from preseason expectation? . “I looked back and he jumped up there and got it”. Results so far have been mixed, splitting with Northern Michigan and Boston College. But it’s not unrealistic to believe the Wolverines could be much more competitive in “The Game”. That is the most they have had in a season since 2011 (31).
Up or down from preseason expectations?
Penn State is averaging 30.5 a game, led by quarterback Trace McSorley (1,436 yards and 8 TDs passing; 186 yards rushing), tailback Saquon Barkley (582 yards, 8 TDs), a solid group of receivers and an improving offensive line. “They do anything they can to get the ball in his hands”. But Whatever the challenge, the young Buckeyes – they started two seniors against Wisconsin – seem to figure it out.
MI comes into this game as a HUGE favorite and will be playing at home. Up, but with a tiny question mark. “We need to represent (the school) by getting to the Big Ten tournament because that’s what Ohio State is all about.”Humphrey continues to dominate OSU’s offense with 11 goals and seven assists for a total of 29 points”.
Jim Harbaugh, though, looks and sounds the same every week. They’ve started to play good defense, finally, and that’s largely because of Kevin Wilson hiring of coordinator Tom Allen. Up from a starting point that was probably too low.
Ohio State at Penn State: The absolute highlight of this week’s Big Ten schedule. This is about development and I would like to see George do well.
This is not his first time celebrating with the Wolverines after a win.
No. 5 Washington is the only team listed as an underdog against MI. The third-year Nittany Lions boss is 0-7 against Michigan, Michigan State and Ohio State. Mostly the same, but up if I had to choose one. Unfortunately, this week they are facing a MI offense that has done a really good job when it comes to ball security. We’ll see if the Boilers pick someone besides the usual MAC coach or Big Ten assistant.
Michigan’s electrifying Jabrill Peppers, listed on the roster as a linebacker, has lined up all over the field.
