Cubs name Lester as Game One starter for World Series
“Cubs fan Janice Rainey feels the same way, but says, most of all, ‘I’d like to see a World Series championship sign up!”
Cleveland Indians pitcher Corey Kluber pitches to the Toronto Blue Jays during first inning in Game 4 of baseball’s American League Championship Series in Toronto, Tuesday, Oct. 18, 2016.
The Cubs, whose last World Series appearance came in 1945, are seeking their first Major League Baseball crown since 1908 while the Indians, who last appeared in the Fall Classic in 1997, haven’t won it all since 1948. “It’s not just Chicago. I’ve been through so much you know”, said Levi Richardson.
“What a special moment”. Being Cubs fans probably is the only thing we can all agree on now, 48 years later.
“Thankfully we had some time off, which is good. The ultimate goal is still out in front of us”. Tickets for the three games in NY past year to see the Mets play the Kansas City Royals only cost an average of $1,600.

Schwarber hit five home runs during the Cubs’ playoff run last season.
“You’re facing their best guys all the time”, Mallee said. We’re having the time of our lives. Tickets to just get into the park and stand behind those with actual seats were going for more than $2,200 each. The Cubs could choose from Jon Lester, John Lackey or Jake Arrieta.
“Every team in Chicago has won a trophy”, Jaeger said.
CHICAGO – Kyle Schwarber smiled and held his arms in the air, his teammates spraying him with champagne.
The youngsters have given the Cubs a lot of good games so far. “It puts it in perspective for us”.
“We’ll just continue to evaluate him medically day by day in terms of baseball readiness”, president of baseball operations Theo Epstein said. We have four more to go.
The Cubs obviously aren’t going to share specifics on their gameplan against the Cleveland Indians pitching staff, but the overall approach remains the same.
A sprained left ankle could keep Cleveland Indians second baseman Jason Kipnis out of Game 1. “We like guys not believing in us because we love going out and proving people wrong”.
