Clinton runs up campaign cash advantage over Trump
With less than two-weeks to go before Election Day, the Pew Research Center reported Thursday 70 percent of voters said the Republican presidential nominee was hard to like; 59 percent said the same about Democratic rival Hillary Clinton.
“He had already made a big investment”.
“They are trying to convince you that your vote doesn’t matter, that the outcome has already been determined and that you shouldn’t even bother to make your voice heard”. Trump has given about $56 million, a significant amount, to his campaign – most of it during the primary when he was mostly self-funding, but he has only a few days left to give about $44 million more if he follows through.
The new gift represents the most that Trump has put into his bid since the month of March, when he loaned his campaign $11.5 million. These documents will show fundraising and spending between October 1 and October 19 – giving a sense of what resources each side had available as the campaign entered its frantic final stretch.
Trump has repeatedly pledged to spend a total of $100 million or more on the election. I know. It, it, it has never been done before. “We feel we’re doing incredibly well with the dollars we’re spending”.
“We have got to be vigilant about this”. She maintains a staff of more than 800 – several times larger than Trump’s – and has spent more on advertising than the Republican has every single week of the race. His campaign manager, Kellyanne Conway, said on Twitter that “a great day in our campaign just got even better”.
“And it’s expensive”, Clovis added.
Speaking to supporters on Thursday in Toledo, Ohio, Trump said Clinton would handle trade deals so badly that the country should “just cancel the election” and name him the victor.
Having so many ballots locked down before the November 8 election is good news for the Clinton campaign.
“Clearer signs now of a tighter race, as Trump has inched up to 21% in our polls-plus forecast (19% in polls-only)”, he wrote on Friday. “We are at the top of the home stretch and I think we are closing ground”.
Trump, Clovis said, has been “extremely disciplined and on message” over the past month, with the exception of the leaked tapes on which he brags about touching and kissing women without consent. Howcver, as the whole videos have not been released, they may have been taken out of context.
Trump has called the allegations “absolutely false”. Clinton lost three points during that period. “And I have to tell you, he was always saying something that I was finding oh boy, unacceptable”, she said.
