Fan starts $72m GoFundMe campaign to get rid of National Football League quarterback
Despite not throwing a single touchdown pass and finishing with fewer than 140 passing yards a week ago, Houston Texans quarterback Brock Osweiler could still be a good option for some fantasy owners in 2016. This one was by Lamar Miller after a one-handed DeAndre Hopkins grab pushed the Texans right down to the Lions’ 1 yard line.
One Texans fan in particular is trying to fund a Brock Osweiler buyout on his own. Coming off a 14.5-sack season, Ansah still is looking for his first sack this year.
The running game was virtually non existent in the first half but the Texans stayed committed to the run tallying 82 second half rushing yards. In the receiving end, Marvin Jones posted 94 yards in four receptions while Golden Tate added 93 yards in six catches. But after falling behind by two scores in the second quarter, the Lions pulled no closer than one touchdown following halftime, stymied by the Texans’ ground attack after rallying to victory in each of the previous three weeks. This brakes down to $4 million in basic (called P5 salary per league collective bargaining agreement), $3 million signing bonus, and $5 million roster bonus.
“I’m not concerned about the criticism”, Osweiler said. Nearly every one of those players went quiet today. Plus, the games that the Lions have lost were decided by a single possession.
Because it appears some are ticked off that the 25-year-old performer has been mediocre at best in his first season. “We are No. 1 in our division”. He’s completed just 58.2 percent of his passes, averaged just 5.7 yards per attempts and has matched his eight touchdowns with eight interceptions.
Osweiler has struggled at times and was embarrassed by his former teammates in Denver during Monday night’s loss on national television.
We have the right stuff to be exploding across the league on offense but it’s just somehow it hasn’t come all together. “There’s 10 other guys on the field that need to help him out, including myself”.
Even so, Houston is paying a lot of money to a quarterback who hasn’t been much better than the franchise has seen before. “He’s the same guy every day”.

So we better enjoy what we have and hope that the Texans have a plan if Bouye becomes hot to trot.
Can the Detroit Lions make it four in a row when they meet the Houston Texans at the NRG Stadium? With Riddick and Washington back, Detroit could actually have a solid running game again (yes I consider Riddick screens and passes into the flat as runs.) And Ebron gives defenses another matchup nightmare to deal with in the middle of the field.
