Lisa Hochstein Opts for Surrogate after a Long Infertility Struggle
Lisa Hochstein, the Real Housewives of Miami star, and her husband, Lenny Hochstein, are ecstatic that they are finally going to have their first child through surrogacy.
Lisa, 32, and her plastic surgeon husband had been struggling for years to conceive naturally, but weren’t successful due to infertility issues. After 3 heartbreaking miscarriages and 4 failed IVF efforts, the couple finally resorted to surrogacy. Lisa shared her happiness through Instagram where she posted pictures of three positive pregnancy tests .The baby is due in on Aug. 1 but may even arrive a little earlier. The Bravo star revealed that the baby might arrive on July 24th, on her birthday and that it would be the best gift she could have ever asked for.
The couple was overjoyed on hearing that they are finally going to be parents but decided to not go overboard until they passed the 3rd trimester.
After numerous failed attempts at conceiving naturally, the couple decided to go for a surrogate. They also kept the option of adoption open if surrogacy didn’t work. The couple documented their struggle to conceive including their emotional doctor visits and IVF treatments in the second and third seasons of Real Housewives of Miami.
The former Playboy model, however, is still hopeful of becoming pregnant herself. Lisa and Lenny, who got married in October 2009, are yet to find out baby’s gender, but are already thinking about the names. The couple feels that the baby should have a name starting with L so that they all share the same initials.
Lisa joined the Bravo series season two, with fellow new housewives Karent Sierra and Joanna Krupa. Hochstein remained on board in season three, that bid Sierra goodbye. A possible 4th season might be in the offing but nothing is confirmed as of now.
