‘We should just cancel the election’ and declare me the winner

Trump’s campaign recently resumed the “matching” solicitations. Now the vote is split 45% to 45% between Trump and Clinton among Texan women.
In her story on Donald Trump’s poll numbers, Mic’s Stephanie Gaskell noted that despite the wide gap between Trump and Clinton, the Republican is still aggressively campaigning. Trump has denied the women’s allegations, calling them “totally and absolutely false” and has promised to sue the women after the election.
In the Associated Press-GfK survey, just 35% of Mr Trump’s supporters said they are likely to accept the result of the election as legitimate if Mrs Clinton wins, while 64% said they are likely to have serious doubts about the accuracy of the vote.
Clinton leads 91 to 3 percent among Democrats and 46 to 32 percent among independent voters.
A Reuters/Ipsos poll found that 41 percent of Republicans expected Clinton to win the Nov 8 election, versus 40 percent who picked Trump. The assessment isn’t great for Hillary Clinton either. He called social media “an instrument” for doing that. If Clinton seized the state it would be a huge upset as Texas has the second largest share of Electoral College votes (38) after California, with 55.
Early voting, via mail or in-person, is underway in 37 states. Nationwide, more than 12 million voters have already cast ballots, a pace far quicker than 2012.
According to the Texans polled, both Trump and Clinton are considered to be “poor” candidates. And that’s not the only bad news for Republicans: At this point four years ago, the GOP actually had a lead of more than 6,000.
America is not a democracy, it is a republic. But Democrats were able to keep it close.
Trump made an appearance in the vital battleground of OH, hammering Clinton as corrupt. But wins there would still leave him well short of the required votes. Trump’s been hurt by his unpopularity among minority voters and Mormons, who make up a sizeable population in the state. Cardinal Timothy Dolan, the New York Archbishop, has said that in a warm private exchange at an otherwise testy charity dinner last week, Clinton had told Trump that “whatever happens, we need to work together afterward”.
