College Football Playoff Championship Odds 11/1/16

One could argue that many teams are eliminated early in the season, thus effectively ending their seasons. Clemson only sits behind defending College Football Playoff victor Alabama.

The season finale against LSU (No. 13 in the committee rankings) looms as the most hard game, but remember the Tigers will be coming off the rescheduled battle against Florida the week before while A&M is coming off a spa treatment against UTSA.

The West is 7-1 against the East this season, and the only loss came when Kentucky, second place in the East, beat bottom-dwelling Mississippi State on a last-second field goal. The Mountaineers weren’t getting a ton of respect nationally and had just moved into the AP Top 10.

Just two months after coach Gus Malzahn was firmly on the hot seat and losing to Clemson to start the season, Auburn is suddenly one of the hottest teams in college football.

That could result in a matchup that could decide the SEC West, with the victor potentially punching a ticket to the SEC Championship Game the following week in Atlanta, and have serious playoff implications. In 2014, Maryland won at MI 23-16, which effectively closed the lid on the Brady Hoke era, but the Wolverines won 28-0 last season.
