Huawei Mate 9 camera samples leaked ahead of launch
The two remaining variants both come with a 4GB of RAM.
According to a report from Android Headlines, the design of the Huawei Mate 9, based on the leaked photos, doesn’t seem to be that much different from its predecessor, the Huawei Mate 8.
The Mate 9 gets a 64GB ROM, which is expandable through an external card.
Lastly, there are rumors that the Huawei Mate 9 will release with two versions – a standard version and a Huawei Mate 9 pro version. Huawei Mate 9 Pro would cost considerably more for the high-end model with maxed out specs reportedly to cost $1,300. You might have the option to buy it in the United States at some point as well. It will be available in a variety of colors, including Space Gray, Black, Mocha Brown, Ceramic White, Champagne Gold, and Moonlight Silver.
A bit of history first – Porsche Design was founded by Ferdinand Porsches grandson, who also happened to design the Porsche 911 way back in 1963.
Huawei has yet to fully integrate itself in Western markets, but the controversy surrounding the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 may well allow the company to increase its market share. The standard design is named as Manhattan.
As with Huawei’s flagship phone launch a year ago, the Chinese smartphone manufacturer has once again teamed up with Leica to bring the latter’s lens tech to the phone; it sports a dual camera system to capture 20-megapixel and 12-megapixel images. It also has 4K video capture, and a hybrid zoom feature which Huawei claims is good at maintaining image quality when zoomed-in. Four cores here comprise the new Cortex-A73 clocked at 2.4GHz while the other four are the 1.8 GHz Cortex-A53 cores.
The Ascend Mate 2 battery life was incredible and I imagine we will see a couple days of use with the 4,000 mAh battery and 1080p display.
Inside, there’s an Kirin 960 octa-core processor built by Huawei, which the company says is it’s most powerful ever, and outperforms the Snapdragon 821 that powers the latest flagship Android devices such as the Google Pixel. Both have USB Type-C. In terms of software experience, they should therefore be identical, while in performance terms, the Porsche Design model should be slightly superior thanks to the extra RAM.
The Mate 9 and Mate 9 Pro is getting launched tonight at an event in Munich. Noted tipster Evan Blass tweeted out a picture of the smartphone in purple colour option with caption – Huawei Mate 9.
