Cruz to join Pence at rally in Portage
Pence didn’t speak about a rigged election and was more disciplined in his speech than Trump in previous rallies – something supporters of the campaign say they appreciate.
Donald Trump Jr. and his sister, Ivanka, are campaigning Wednesday in MI. At the very mention of the name Clinton, the crowd was filled with shouts of “lock her up” and “Clinton for prison”. Ruth Grimes of Las Cruces, a lifelong Democrat, is supporting the Trump-Pence ticket this year.
Governor Pence encouraged everyone to vote early and on November 8th. “Here in America, no one is above the law”, Pence told supporters, “We must ensure Hillary Clinton is never elected president of the United States of America”.
“Bow the head and bend the knee”, Pence said. The region swings between the two parties.
“There are a lot of silent voters out there – my brother’s one of them”, Trujillo said. It is committed to honoring our law enforcement officers and helping to bring security and safety to our cities.
After remarks from Congressional candidate Don Bacon, Nebraska Gov. Pete Ricketts welcomed Pence to the stage. Either the path of big government regulation, taxation and corruption under Clinton, he said, or Trump’s vision to make America stronger and more secure both home and overseas with a revitalized economy fueled by pro-job trade policies, lower taxes, less regulation and ethics reform created to “drain the swamp” in the nation’s capital. Chuck Grassley, who is up for reelection, in the Hawkeye State.
“The media is out there doing half of Hillary Clinton’s work for her every day”, he said. It’s just the best they can do.
Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump have attacked each other’s character in the election’s final days.
Pence’s visit comes on the heels of his running mate Donald Trump’s Albuquerque rally over the weekend.
Before Pence’s speech, some New Mexico Republicans warmed up the crowd and voiced support for Trump and Pence.
Clinton has not visited Greenville during this election cycle.
“I’m a Christian, a conservative and a Republican”, Pence said at the rally, which was held in a hangar with his plane behind him and a light rain falling outside. Doors open at 9 a.m.at the AVFlight hanger at the Capital Region International Airport.

A few protesters joined. Holding a sign reading “Deplorable Latina (hearts) Trump-Pence”, she explained she recently Drove to Pueblo, Colorado, to see Trump.
Hoadley said it shows just how out of step Pence is with the people of southwest MI that he would campaign in Portage just a few months after that city passed an inclusive non-discrimination policy.
Cruz won the Iowa caucuses.
