Tim Kaine says Clinton is the ‘underdog’
Tim Kaine returned to where it all started, holding one last rally in Richmond before casting his vote Tuesday.
Asked how he and Clinton could unite the country if they win on Tuesday, Kaine said that Clinton had a “great track record” while serving in the Senate working across the aisle with Republicans.
Tim Kaine has cast his ballot for president in his hometown of Richmond, Virginia.
In Alexandria, Virginia, Heather O’Beirne Kelly says she’s wearing a white pantsuit, inspired by the Facebook group and organized efforts to get women to wear white to vote. Democrat Burnadette Pierce is voting for Clinton because the former secretary of state promised to help reduce gun violence and college debt. “We don’t ever say, Wisconsin is safe and that’s because we really do consider it a battleground and that’s why we spend so much time”. “Very very hard to do, and you earn our admiration every day by what you do”, he said. “We all need to be around the table”, Kaine told the congregation.
By the time he left, a line had formed around the building. It’s been a really fantastic experience going to 40 states and 140 cities, just in 100 days and do all this work. “So given that they had reached such a clear decision, we were confident they were gonna reach the same conclusion but we were a little bit you know it’s only eleven days to the election and I’m glad that they went into it quickly devoted the resources to it and they’ve come to the same conclusion”. “The population is moving out, there’s no jobs, no future for the kids if Hillary Clinton is elected”, said Ratliff.
Having come fresh from a stop in Northern Virginia, Kaine had a ready-made segue to a history lesson about the Occoquan Workhouse (or the Lorton Reformatory), which is a famous now-defunct Washington, D.C., jail that was located in Virginia.
Although in 1952-2004, Virginia consistently voted for the Republican candidates (with exceptions in 1964, when Lyndon Johnson won against Barry Goldwater).
They appeared at a rally Saturday in Wisconsin’s most conservative county – a month after Ryan said he would no longer defend or campaign with Trump.
More than a dozen people were waiting in line before the polls opened.
Maryland voters will decide whether Democrat Hillary Clinton or Republican Donald Trump will win the state’s 10 electoral votes. “And I love the idea that for the first time in 100 years, we’ve got a Virginian on the ticket”.
And here in Charlotte, Hillary Clinton’s running mate, Tim Kaine, made the final push to get North Carolinians to the polls.
As the November 5 early voting deadline rapidly approaches, Kaine and Feingold are traveling across Wisconsin to promote early voting.
“I think that he has his flaws like everybody else. But I just hope that carries through the day”. “Not just to win over people who might not be supporters, but we’ve got to speak to it to make sure this country continues to hold a promise that tomorrow’s generation can have it better than their parents did”.
