KU women’s soccer will play host to Mizzou in NCAA Tournament

The victor of the play-in game moves on to face No. 2 seed and regional host Maryland on November 12 at 11:30 a.m.

GVSU is 19-1-1 on the season as they enter the 2016 NCAA Tournament with the potential to become the only school in Division II history with six national titles.
Sunday’s victor will face either No. 2 regional seed North Carolina or Liberty in the second round on November 18.
Santa Clara (9-6-4) finished third in the West Coast Conference but reached the tournament thanks to marquee wins over USC and California early in the season. Notre Dame would also host second- and third-round matches should it advance.
The Final Four is set to take place December 1-3 at Children’s Mercy Victory Field at Swope Soccer Village in Kansas City, Mo. “To be able to host an NCAA Tournament game at a venue like Rock Chalk Park is huge for us and we couldn’t be more excited and ready to go”.
The Maroon and Gold have made five NCAA quarterfinals appearances (2002-03, 2007-08, 2010) in program history with a pair of Final Four showings (2007, 10) under head coach Doug Elder.
In addition to Arkansas, three SEC schools will also host their opening round match on their home field: SC will host Alabama State, Florida Gulf Coast will visit Florida and South Alabama will travel to Auburn. The Tar Heels are the No. 2-seeded team in the Jayhawks’ region.
On Monday night, the Mountaineers learned of their NCAA Tournament fate.
