Voters face machine problems, long lines in some states
-Polls across North Carolina are open Tuesday from 6:30 a.m. until 7:30 p.m.
Cleveland County will host 83 precincts. There were voting delays throughout parts of the Bronx early Tuesday morning, with officials blaming the glitch on the Board of Election not providing keys to scanner machines. The president of Common Cause, Karen Hobert Flynn said that voters waiting in the queue were reportedly shouting at each other.
While election day was largely peaceful, civil rights groups logged a high number of complaints from voters reporting harassment or suppression.
Colorado’s statewide voter registration database went down for nearly half an hour this afternoon, a temporary glitch for the minority of voters who cast ballots in person there. Almost 18,000 early ballots were cast in the county over the weekend.
Trump’s lawsuit, filed in a Nevada state court on Monday, said election officials violated state law because they allowed people to join the line after 8 p.m.at a polling location at a Latino market.
“We’ve already destroyed the record, and we could go much higher than that”, said Michael Hernandez, a county spokesman.

While laws vary by state, typical statutes prohibit anyone from giving you (or offering, lending, or promising to give or lend you) anything to get you to vote, refrain from voting, or vote a certain way. “We’re always trying to make it more convenient for voters, so there’s no reason not to participate”.
“Just as buildings in California have a greater need to be natural disaster proofed, places where there is greater racial polarization in voting have a greater need for prophylactic measures to prevent purposeful race discrimination”, Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg commented after the ruling. Now, anyone can vote by mail in Oklahoma.
Voters are required to show proof of identity. But most importantly, we want to ensure that voters are able to cast a ballot free from from intimidation or harrassment which requires making sure that unauthorized people are not inside our polls today. Libertarian candidate Gary Johnson received one vote and 2012 Republican nominee Mitt Romney, who was not on the ballot in this election, received a write-in vote for president.
And in Miami, complaints have come in about a deputy polling official who refused to enforce the “campaign-free zone” outside the perimeter of a polling place. Some elections, like those held in 1980 and 1984, were called before West Coast residents had finished voting, due to landslide victories in Eastern states with many electoral votes on the line.
