“For a special teams coach to have options back there where you’re not just a one-trick pony, it really helps you”. Dolphins scheduled to play at Chargers in 2017. The task, however, won’t be easy. The Chargers offense is very good, and second-year running back Melvin Gordon is lightyears ahead of where he was last year. Sims (8 catches, 94 yards), who has missed the past two games, practiced this week without limitations, but would need to pass the late stage of the NFL’s concussion protocol test before being cleared to play on Sunday. Establishing the run, however, will be a hard task.
Miami is 0-3 in road games this season, but they haven’t played a game on the road in a month. More impressively, they’re holding opposing teams to a measly 3.8 yards per rush. TV: 4:05 p.m. ET, CBS. Miami’s starting offensive line is finally healthy and that has had a lot to do with the recent emergence of Ajayi running the football. Look for Miami to stick to the run, even if it doesn’t work early on. Rivers will be able to lead this offense against the Miami defense and Melvin Gordon has been an effective running back when they can’t throw. Flushed right from the pocket, Rivers saw Henry streaking across the end zone for a 7-yard completion. Overall, Gordon is averaging 85.3 yards per game on the ground to go along with 28 receptions for the season. WASHINGTON 26, VIKINGS 20: Kirk Cousins threw for two touchdowns, and Preston Smith had two sacks and a game-altering interception in Washington’s first victory in nearly a month. Luckily for the Dolphins, they’re getting much better at putting opposing quarterbacks on their backs.
The Panthers had won two straight and were looking to get back in the playoff hunt, but remain three games behind the division-leading Atlanta Falcons and two games behind Tampa Bay and New Orleans in the NFC South. Miami’s quarterback completed two touchdown passes and once again avoided any interceptions. Ajayi has racked up 77 carries and 529 yards during the win streak, which includes two, 200-yard games. Tannehill, on the other hand, has thrown for just 605.

Ryan Tannehill says Miami Dolphins teammate Jarvis Landry needs to be careful in striking a balance between his fiery style of play and being out of control. As we’ve seen recently, if that’s the case, the Dolphins’ chances skyrocket.
Should the Dolphins (4-4) run over the Chargers (4-5) this weekend in San Diego we could be witnessing the future identity of a team that could compete in the AFC East under better circumstances.
“Obviously there is a lot of football left”, Rivers said, half-convincingly. Field goals won’t cut it, especially in this game on the road. He had 117 rushing yards in the first four games combined to start this season.
