Bernie Sanders “deeply humiliated” Democrats can’t talk to working class

We had to win; that was what party leaders had been telling us for the past several months. Competing factions within the Republican Party once shared a common enemy in Hillary Clinton.

HOWARD DEAN: What this was was basically a populist revolution.

GREENE: Oh, OK, so we’ll get a sense for whether Ryan gets that strong support. In the midst of the understandable surprise, conservatives who resisted Trump are pondering their fate. If you recall, a few years ago, Pres. Obama, along with a coalition of Democrat and Republican lawmakers, proposed comprehensive immigration reform, which passed in the Senate. Since the mainstream media routinely fails to report what is contrary to their agenda, they are complicit partners. “Bernie!” – said he fed off the enthusiasm of people in the crowds at his large-scale rallies. The Democrats’ list includes two independents, Vermont’s Bernie Sanders and Maine’s Angus King, who align with them. And the objective of me wanting to do that show, and ABC sort of supported me in the way they did, is because I feel like, you know, the political system is like an old married couple. But I do think it’s time to knock some heads.

And then you got a guy named Mr. Trump, who goes around saying, “I’m gonna champion you!”

Trump offered some solid economic policies during the campaign, but they were often obscured by his constant emphasis on immigration, and those comments were marked by a harsh, divisive tone.

Nonetheless, Sanders said he doubts Trump is a “hero of the working class America”, but he added, “I hope I’m wrong”.

In Minnesota, Republicans erased a 38-28 Democratic majority in a single election and will enter the 2017 session with a one-seat majority.

DEAN: This is supposedly our constituent. “I think what the punditry and the establishment does not understand, there are a lot of people in this country who are suffering, who are hurting, who are scared to death about tomorrow for their kids”. Two years later, in 2008, they increased their majorities and took the presidency, while simultaneously making big gains in state legislatures.

And I think it’s time for a fundamental reassessment. Not one! I have many Democrat friends and associates with whom I disagree on numerous political issues, but the thought that they were “evil” never crossed my mind.

Now, where we go from here? We are gonna take on the billionaire class. We talked about that during the campaign. Not just in NY and California, but we’ve got to talk to them in places like Utah and OH and the Dakotas, which we’re not going to win back for a while because.

Sanders is originally from Brooklyn, New York. According to Gallup, 64 percent of voters hold an unfavorable opinion of Donald Trump. “We will fight it in all its forms, whenever and wherever it re-emerges”.

Going into last week, predictions, even among Republicans, were that the GOP would lose at least some seats in the state House of Representatives.

DEAN: Of course it would have been better, but, you know, nobody does that until they get kicked in the butt in this business, and now we’ve been kicked in the butt.
