Conor McGregor big announcement: ‘Lil Mac’ is on the way

The ref pulled Conor off, and that was it. Conor McGregor is the first UFC fighter to hold two championships – the lightweight and heavyweight belts.

McGregor, who is now the featherweight and lightweight champion, made history at the event in NY as he knocked out Alvarez in the second round to become the first-ever fighter to hold two different titles at the same time. Fans of UFC did not disappoint, as tickets to the event quickly sold out.

“He’s not on my level”, said McGregor, who improved to 21-3 in MMA competition and 9-1 in UFC. “You’ve got to have size, reach, length, you’ve got to have attributes”, he told ring announcer Joe Rogan following the bout.

“He’s tall, he has long arms; he’s got good timing, and if you got good timing and things like that, you can place good punches”.

He continued: “I have spent a lot time of time slating everyone in the company”.

Following a phenomenal fight from Tyron Woodley and Stephen Thompson, which ended up being a majority draw, McGregor’s matchup against Eddie Alvarez wound up being historic.

He added: “You want me to stick around, let’s talk”. The first came about one minute in, courtesy of his infamous left hand. He landed 20 strikes to Alvarez’s six, and the first round without a doubt went to the Dublin native.

Conor McGregor has announced he’s expecting a child with long-term girlfriend Dee Devlin. And now, defending his new lightweight title does not appear to be on his list of priorities.

The significance of that fight wasn’t lost on White, who thinks it will take an otherwordly fight to ever surpass the numbers that UFC 205 did with Alvarez vs. McGregor.

“I don’t want any celebrity type s***”. The guy is special.

“But I’m 100% positive he’s never been hit with shots I’ll hit him with”.
