Trump meets with Obama White House
In an October 25 Reuters interview, Trump said his top priorities when he takes office would be building stronger borders, repealing Obama’s national healthcare plan, aiding military veterans and working to create more jobs. Trump will now head to Capitol Hill to meet with Speaker of the House Paul Ryan.

President-elect Donald Trump’s meeting with President Barack Obama has now lasted more than an hour.

Obama said that he and Trump spoke on foreign and domestic policies along with organizing the Whitehouse ahead of Trump’s January 12th inauguration. “I am contacting you for your guidance and your help so we can work together and unify our great country”. “Because if you succeed the country succeeds”.
As the pool of reporters were led out, Trump told them several times that Obama was “a very good man”.
Trump noted that he and Obama haven’t met each other before. I have great respect for him.
The extraordinary meeting was a reflection of the swift and sudden change in the political mood between the frenzied last days of an election campaign and the reality of government and the transition of power between two administrations that follows.
“It is no secret that the president-elect and I have some pretty significant differences”, Obama said in the Rose Garden on Wednesday. Trump said they talked about “difficulties” around the world but also about accomplishments. Trump added that he plans to seek counsel from Obama in the future.
He said Obama explained “some of the great things that have been achieved”, but did not elaborate. “We are Americans first”, he said.
If Trump makes good on his campaign promises, he’ll wipe away much of what Obama has done during his eight years in office. He’s pledged to repeal Obama’s signature health care law and pull out of the landmark nuclear accord with Iran.
While their husbands talked, first lady Michelle Obama showed her successor Melania Trump the residence where the first family lives and talked with her about raising children in the White House.
Trump flew from NY to Washington on his private jet without the so-called “pool” of reporters, photographers and television cameras that travel with presidents and presidents-elect. Only 112 million Americans voted, and people under 30 made up only 19 percent of that vote, according to the New York Times.
Trump’s victory defied the majority of the polls, polls which had led many to believe that Clinton would win.
The meeting between Obama and Trump was their most extended conversation.
