Prosecutors raid Samsung office in SKorean political scandal
The offices of Samsung Future Strategy Office, the control-tower of the entire Samsung Group, is located at Samsung Electronics’ headquarters in Gangnam, Seoul, and was the target.

A Samsung spokesperson told Efe news that prosecutors raided the offices in charge of the company’s external affairs as it was believed to be involved in influence peddling by providing illicit favors to President’s Park confidant and close friend Choi Soon-sil’s daughter, dressage rider Chung Yoo-ra.
Samsung and the prosecutor’s office declined to comment on the allegations reported by Yonhap.

Local media describe a Svengali-like dynamic between Choi – whose father was said to have major influence over Park’s father – and the president. Who is Choi? She is a longtime friend and adviser to President Park Geun-hye, who’s at the center of Korea’s widening abuse-of-power scandal. Her approval raiding has plummeted to 5 percent.
