Clinton has third highest vote total in American history
The recent USA presidential election has evoked historic interest in the electoral outcome both at home and overseas.
The video goes on to talk about how swing states are constantly changing, citing examples of some that used to “safely” vote GOP or Democrat and have switched allegiances.
The feelings among those who supported Hillary Clinton is understandable.
Protesters behind the #NotMyPresident alliance, made up of anti-Donald Trump protest groups across the US, have released the personal information of several members of the Electoral College in hopes people can persuade them to change their vote.
“If the election were based on total popular vote I would have campaigned in NY Florida and California and won even bigger and more easily”, he tweeted.
A Democratic senator has introduced legislation that would scrap the Electoral College after Donald Trump lost the popular vote but won the presidency.
So in this state, pleading with Republican electors to change their vote, let alone threatening them, will get you nowhere.
For the fifth time in American history, the president-elect did not win the popular vote.
Video: How does the Electoral College work? In a 2012 tweet, he called the system a “disaster for a democracy”. While it is true that the Founders never intended that the president would be elected by the people (because, in their view, we were not wise enough to make a good choice – and maybe they had a point there), the country has long since concluded that the most powerful office in the land is too important to leave to the elites to fill. Her vote totals are expected to climb as more numbers come in.
Referring to the likely deportation of many immigrants from America, Clinton said: “There are also children who are afraid today, like the little girl I met in Nevada who started to cry when she told me how scared she was that her parents would be taken away from her and be deported”.
When we asked readers in 2011 what they’d change about the Constitution if they could, many responses targeted the electoral college.
“I know many of you are deeply disappointed about the results of the election”. Palacio says many people are in deep agony over Trump’s win and are responding any way they can. He calls it “genius”.

The first was John Quincy Adams’ victory over Andrew Jackson in 1824.
House: Republicans retained control of the House of Representatives with a 239 to 192 majority. Bush did it in 2000; Donald Trump, another Republican, has done it again in 2016.
In 1888 Benjamin Harrison defeated incumbent Grover Cleveland after winning the Electoral College despite Cleveland gaining the popular vote.
Of course, there are exceptions-Washington, D.C., is a minority-majority area that has three electoral college votes when then it should only get one. But as of Tuesday, it’s unclear whether he would support Boxer’s bill. ME and Nebraska are the exception, awarding their electors by a proportional, congressional district method. In addition, the bill must gain the ratification of three-fourths of the states within seven years after the bill passes Congress.
