Nitish govt. has derailed development: BJP
Buoyed by the response to his rally in Muzaffarpur last week, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address three more rallies in poll-bound Bihar next month, beginning with one at Gaya on August 9.
According to BJP leaders here, BJP has decided to speed up its campaign aggressively to counter the grand alliance of Janata Dal-United, Rashtriya Janata Dal, the Congress and the Nationalist Congress Party.
BJP’s report card came after Nitish Kumar on Monday released his government’s performance report card listing all achievements of his two terms as chief minister from 2005-2010 and 2010-2015.
“It recorded high growth rate and witnessed the development of basic infrastructure to human development in the last one decade, which was lauded and studied by foreign universities”, Nitish Kumar said while releasing a final report card on his government’s performance ahead of the coming Bihar assembly polls in October-November.
“How will you describe the political situation in Bihar other than as instability when you get three chief ministers in 25 months?”
He claimed that in the past 2.5 years that JDU worked without BJP, Bihar’s development had been derailed and cases of rape, abduction and murder have increased in the state. He also added that Nitish did not start any new schemes during his tenure.
“Even the State’s growth rate has remained half of what it was during the NDA government”. Modi asked referring to Kumar’s resignation from chiefministership after JD(U)’s drubbing in the general elections last year, Jitan Ram Manjhi’s appointment to the post and his subsequent removal earlier this year with Kumar himself regaining the chair.
