Jeep Compass will get a Trailhawk version
The Compass is now making its bow at the 2016 Los Angeles Auto Show and will reach dealerships sometime in the indeterminate future. The Jeep Compass is a compact crossover SUV first launched by Jeep in 2007.
The Jeep Compass will get more traditional styling look which is similar to its sibling which makes the look more rugged as well.
At the top of his wishlist were two seven-seaters: the Grand Wagoneer and a smaller, mid-size SUV to rival Toyota’s Kluger/Highlander, which motoring.com.au understands will be next year’s new-generation Cherokee – stretched to accommodate three rows of seats. There’s only one available engine – a 2.4-liter I4 that puts out 180 horsepower and 175 pound-feet of torque. Front-wheel drive (4×2) and all-wheel drive (4×4) configurations will be available. All 4×4 variants will run a nine-speed automatic transmission, while 4×2 and 4×4 variants will get a six-speed manual, while 4×2 variants will get a six-speed automatic transmission. Jeep Active Drive Low is standard, and unique front and rear fascias contribute to increased approach and departure angles. The home market, the U.S., still accounts for over 70% of its total sales and it is banking on emerging markets like India and Brazil to drive further growth for the Jeep brand. The all-new Jeep Compass range will be available in Sport, Longitude and Limited trim levels in India, but not in the Trailhawk trim level which is planned globally.
People closer to the developments have reportedly indicated that FCA and Tata might share a new 2.0-litre diesel engine in the near future.

The Tesla Model S is America’s “most-loved” vehicle, according to a consumer survey conducted by market research firm Strategic Vision. The current Compass starts at $19,795; a loaded version runs about $27,000. The Jeeps built in that plant are mostly sold in South America. The Compass Trailhawk joins the Cherokee Trailhawk and the Renegade Trailhawk to give Jeep total off-road dominance at the entry-level. “Built around the world for customers everywhere, JeepCompass raises the bar in the compact-SUV segment”. Between an all-new Cherokee in 2014, the Renegade B-class crossover in 2016, and seemingly constant updates to the Grand Cherokee, as well as an all-new Wrangler just around the corner, the brand has not been lacking for attention and new product, with the exception of the Compass.
Still, Jeep lovers will get a true Jeep, meaning the Compass will have substantial off-road chops.
